This policy explains what information southernuptime.com collects, why, and what happens to it. Southern Uptime LLC is based in Reidsville, Georgia. If you have questions, email contact@southernuptime.com.
The short version
- I don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools on this site.
- I don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
- The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send through the contact form, plus the basic technical information every website receives when you visit.
The contact form
When you use the contact form, it collects your name and email address (required) and, if you choose to provide them, your phone number, website address, and message. I use this information only to reply to you and to discuss the work you asked about.
Form submissions are not stored on this website. Each submission is sent as an email through Brevo, an email delivery service, to my business inbox at contact@southernuptime.com, which is hosted by Zoho Mail. I keep those emails as long as I need them to respond to you and for normal business records. The form uses a built-in spam check that runs in your browser. It doesn’t use a third-party CAPTCHA service.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, this site’s server records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, your browser type, the pages you request, and the time of the request. I use these logs only for security and troubleshooting, and they are automatically deleted after 7 days. Failed attempts to log in to the site’s admin area are also logged with the IP address to block break-in attempts.
Cookies
This site doesn’t set cookies for regular visitors. The only cookies it uses are the standard WordPress login cookies, which are set only when an administrator logs in to manage the site.
Fonts
This site’s fonts are stored on and served from this website’s own server. Your browser doesn’t connect to Google or any other outside font service to display them, so loading the fonts doesn’t share your IP address with a third party.
Hosting and backups
The site is hosted on a server at DigitalOcean. To protect against data loss, the site’s files and database are backed up daily to private DigitalOcean storage in New York. The 14 most recent backups are kept. Because contact form submissions aren’t stored on the site, they aren’t part of these backups.
Search engines
The site uses the Yoast SEO plugin to give search engines page titles, descriptions, and a sitemap. It doesn’t track visitors or set cookies.
Who your information is shared with
I share information only with the services that keep this site and my email running: DigitalOcean (hosting and backups), Brevo (sending contact form emails), Zoho (my business email), and Google (website fonts). I don’t sell, rent, or trade your information, and I don’t share it for advertising.
Your choices
You can ask what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email contact@southernuptime.com and I’ll take care of it.
Children
This site is meant for businesses and isn’t directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If how the site handles information changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
